Harewood Downs Match

Well done all and many thanks to Danny Tucker & Frank Wood for grinding out a half and preventing a whitewash on Saturday away against Harewood Downs. All the games were close with a couple going to the 18th (4.5 to 0.5) Their course was in great condition and it was nice for us all to start on the first (tee).
Sheets are now up for our next three fixtures starting with Temple at home on July 10th and an opportunity to reverse the 7 shot deficit inflicted upon us at their place.

Covid Unlocking

At last, some good news on easing of limits and restrictions!

Although the government has decided that most current restrictions need to remain beyond 21 June, we have decided that we will remove the limits on the number of future tee bookings that a member may have at any one time and allow members to bring guests in accordance with the club’s normal rules.

Booking limit

The limit of 3 future bookings in the next 7 days is removed with immediate effect.

Peter Flynn-Harewood Downs

It is with considerable sadness that I have to report that Peter Flynn collapsed on the course at Harewood Downs on Sunday and after valiant efforts by those who found him and the medical services in attendance, Pete passed away.

Pete had artisan written through him like a stick of rock, covering both treasurer and secretary roles over the years. Recently re-joining after his covid experience, he told us he was so happy, in fact in a far better place than he had been for some time. He loved the Artisan banter and was so pleased to be back playing again.

On Sunday Peter completed his early morning duties before playing a solid 9 holes and was making his way back to his car when he collapsed. He was a loyal, hardworking and much appreciated member of Harewood Downs Artisans and will be missed by all.

Kind Regards

Message from the Captain

Gents, players required for the next fixture away against Temple on 12th June 3pm start. Also please take time to look at the other two up and coming matches and make yourself available where you can, home to Maidenhead on the 19th and away to Harewood Downs on the 26th. Your club needs you. Keep on swinging, Glenn
